I’m Joe Standish, host of the mid-day show on 97.9 The Point! I’ve worked here since the very beginning in 2005. In addition to hosting middays, I also take care of many of the technical details behind the scenes.
I grew up in Billings, MT, and developed an interest in radio at an early age. I even built a small radio station as a hobby when I was a kid. When I moved to Rapid City to go to college at SDSM&T, I started working part time at our sister station, KSLT. When the Point signed onto the air, I served as the program director, and later became the station engineer.
I have been married to my wife Katie for almost eight years now. We both stay pretty busy with our new daughter, Evie, and our three pets! I enjoy hiking, music, computers, grilling and cooking, running, and eating great food.
I am also very excited to serve such a graceful, amazing God. He never fails to amaze me or challenge me.
How long have you worked in radio?
How old are you?

What's your favorite soft drink?
Coca-Cola, for sure. Pepsi is no substitute!
Do you have any pets?
Yes, too many, but I love them all! One dog (Juna, a border collie) and two cats (Lucy and Gary).
What are your top 3 favorite artists on The Point?
Mat Kearney, NEEDTOBREATHE, and Fireflight.
